Trying to be skinny for someone else kept me unhappy In every relationship I was, I gained weight after a while and it always started conflict in the relationship.  I’d notice them starting to look at other women, then giving them more attention.  Next thing coming was the comments. “You really want to eat that?”  Even in the moments they didn’t say anything, I could feel them getting annoyed with me when they saw a woman that was skinnier than me.  Many fights ended with me starting another diet in hopes that I will finally be skinny enough to be accepted and worthy enough of getting attention in my own relationship.  The beginning always worked well - when the desperation after the fight was still fresh.
 But then the “why can’t I just enjoy life and food?!” thoughts set in.  And after a while, I ran out of willpower to stick to this stupid diet I didn’t want to do in the first place, I just did it to please somebody else.  Here’s the thing:  You will never adhere to something that YOU didn’t choose for YOURSELF.  I was inconsistent with my eating habits which left me feeling like a failure and not worthy of love and attention.  I was inconsistent with my exercise schedule because I hated all the jumping around at home to burn as many calories as possible and just did it to please someone else.  None of it got me real, long lasting results! 

You know what did? 

Getting clear on what I, MYSELF, want. And WHY I want it.  I want to be strong.  I want to feel great in my body.  I want to be in control of my habits.  I want to feel proud of my work ethic I put in in the gym. I want to feel confident.  WHY? 
Because feeling strong, confident, in control, proud of my work ethic brings me forward and makes me take control of my life. Hitting a new PR at the gym, pushing through that last rep when I feel like giving up adds fuel to my days.  It gives me the feeling of “if I can do this, I can do anything”  That’s why I stick to it, that’s how I can be consistent with my nutrition and my workouts.  If you’ve been inconsistent and you feel like you’re out of control, I challenge you to get clear on what YOU want and WHY you want it.  Write it down and keep it somewhere close so you can be reminded of it 🧡 #weightlossforwomenover30 #womensweightloss #weightlossmindset #womensweightlosstips #womensconfidence
