How To Make Calendula Oil 🏵️✨ Ingredients: 1 cup dried calendula flowers (ensure they are completely dry to avoid mold growth in the oil) 2 cups carrier oil (such as olive oil, almond oil, or jojoba oil, depending on your preference and skin type) Equipment: A clean, dry jar with a tight-fitting lid A double boiler or a small pot and a heat-safe bowl Cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer A storage bottle or container for the finished oil Instructions: 1️⃣Place the dried calendula flowers in the clean, dry jar. Fill it until it's about three-quarters full, allowing space for the oil to circulate around the flowers. 2️⃣Pour the carrier oil over the calendula flowers until they are completely submerged. If necessary, use a spoon or a stick to gently push down any floating flowers to ensure they are fully covered with oil. 3️⃣Transfer the oil and calendula mixture into the top of a double boiler or a heat-safe bowl that can sit over a pot of simmering water. Warm the mixture over low heat for 12-24 hours, making sure the oil does not boil (under 120 is ideal). *This is why I love the @LĒVO machine, it keeps my infusions at a constant temperature so I don’t have to watch the entire process to know it’s infusing correctly. Alternatively, you can place the jar in a sunny windowsill for a solar infusion. This method takes longer, typically 4 weeks, but is a gentle way to infuse the oil. Shake the jar lightly every day to mix the contents. 4️⃣After warming or solar infusing, remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly. Then, strain the oil through a piece of cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer into a clean bowl. Be sure to squeeze out as much oil as possible from the flowers. 5️⃣Transfer the strained oil into a clean, dry bottle or container. Label the container with the date and type of oil used. Store the infused oil in a cool, dark place. It should last for up to a year if stored properly. Usage: Use your calendula-infused oil as a moisturizer for dry skin, a base for homemade balms and salves, or as a soothing massage oil. Tips: Ensure all equipment and your workspace are clean and dry to prevent any moisture from getting into the oil, which could lead to spoilage. Choosing the right carrier oil depends on your skin type and the intended use of the infused oil. Olive oil is great for all-around use, almond oil is lightweight for sensitive skin, and jojoba oil closely mimics the skin's natural sebum. Creating your own calendula-infused oil is a rewarding way to enjoy the natural benefits of calendula in your skincare routine. #calendulaoil #calendulaglow #calendulatime #herbaloils #herbaloilinfusion #calendula #calendulaskincare #herbalistsoftiktok #herbalismforbeginners #herbaloilinfusions #herbalremedies #skinhealthtips #skinhealth #glowingskincare
