@reactivrehab: Trigger finger, also known as stenosing tenosynovitis, is a condition that affects the fingers or thumb. Normally, when you bend or straighten your finger, a tendon (a fibrous tissue that connects muscles to bones) glides smoothly through a tunnel called the sheath. However, in trigger finger, the sheath becomes inflamed or narrowed, making it difficult for the tendon to move smoothly. As a result, when you try to straighten or bend your finger, it may get stuck or catch before suddenly popping or snapping into place. This can cause pain, discomfort, and a clicking sensation. Adding the bandaid helps to rest the finger and not allow it to get caught.
