@endometriosis_summit: I lost an ovary for a missed hernia, thats why Ive dedicated so much of my career to understanding and educating on the role of hernia with pelvic pain. It is easy, even for an endometriosis specialist to miss a hernia because you don’t need a bulge and often times these nerve compressions can be hard to spot on scans. It is easy to not be believed, get the wrong treatment and continue to suffer for years on end. People often assume its an ovary because the nerves involved with the hernia are located bilaterally in the side of the lower quadrant. Symptoms can include 💥intense stomach pain in one pinpointed area usually off of midline either on the left or right of the lower abdomen 💥bloating, pain, and pressure usually coming from that pinpointed spot 💥inner thigh pain 💥vulvar and/or inner thigh itching 💥pubic bone pain 💥constipation 💥wrap around back pain, usually worse on one side 💥intense urinary urgency 💥pain can increase at ovulation and during the period without it being endometriosis It is easy to miss a hernia on a scan unless the right protocol is done (listed on @herniadoc website) or read by people who understand what to look for. Radiologists often only look for a bulge. Dr Mark Zoland suggests the no bulge hernia specialist look at the scan themselves. Hernia can be a big source of pain in the person with endometriosis join @endocipota as she shares her hernia story and The Endometriosis Summit to talk about hernia. June 1 730 pm EST on Instagram with recording to post in our Instagram feed. Remember that ovary pain sometimes really isnt the ovary. There is a lot in that area that can drive pain. #endometriosis #hernia #pelvicpain #inguinalhernia #ovariancyst #bloating #endobellt #publagia #ilioinguinal #patientexperience #endosummit #femoralhernia #generalsurgeon #gyn #medicaltiktoks #fyp #live
Can you have an inguinal hernia without the lump? I have all the symptoms, but no lump.

I have pain on my right pelvic during and more after my period. Pelvic ultrasound is ok so no cysts or endometriosis, ovaries also ok. Dr told me to monitor the pain and get another US after 3-4 mos.
