@beccabyhand: Everyone, meet Fig Newton ❤️ the new lady in my life. I hadn’t planned on getting another cat quite yet, but the best things tend to happen when you dont anticipate them. A few hours after Flurff passed away, I went to my friends’ place to get out of my apartment and process the loss. These friends helped my grieve when I needed it most… and these very same friends found Fig. They were walking their foster dog down their Brooklyn street and heard meowing underneath a parked car. They looked underneath the car and saw Fig, who promptly lept into their arms. Fig wasn’t microchipped and wasn’t claimed by anyone (we think she was previously owned and abandoned). They took her in to foster, and when I went to their place for dinner a week later, I was immediately smitten with this small yet tough little lady. Fig needed a forever home… and I had a home and a whole lot of love to offer her. She’s helping me learn that loving something new doesn’t take anything away from remembering Flurff. And I like to believe that Flurff had a hand in bringing Fig to me. Fig is around 7 or 8, loves to headbutt you for head rubs, and has the cutest RMF (Resting Mobster Face). Her past may be unknown, but I’m going to do my best to make her future a good one ❤️
