Yes prune the blossoms. Blooms mean small tubers are forming and you don’t want the tubers competing for nutrients/energy with the blooms.

You could always do a tater-experiment & cut the blooms off of one but not the other & see what it yields

Potato farmer here, don’t cut the blooms, keep watering. The plant will start to naturally die off when they are ready. That is when you stop watering

I was always told to prune the flowers so the plant can focus on making the potatoes, but I just listen and don't have any real experience 😅

You should prune some and leave some and then let us know what to do 😅

We never cut the flowers off. Just let plant go dry and then potato’s are ready.

I believe the flowers are the indicator that the plant is ready to start growing tubers. Continue to water them as you have been. They’re happy babies

Confused yet? Some say prune some say don't. The few times we grew potatoes we didn't & still got potatoes. I don't remember if my grandma did or not.

If you trim the tops it’s a cue to devote more energy to the skin of the potato so they don’t get too too large

No it’s an indicator that tubers are forming. And you’re 6 weeks out from harvest.

It doesn't make much difference in production if I prune the blooms or not. I leave them for pollinators. Stop water & fertilizer about a month before

Nope. Don’t do anything. When the tops fall over and die it’s time to harvest.

Flowers are the equivalent of bolting, so no. Cut them so the roots (& fruits) are priority.

Grow in a tire. Cut off flowers so they continue to grow. When they get higher, add another tire, leaving just a couple of nodes of leaves. Repeat.
