Had a situation where I didn’t see my mom for almost 5 years and my step mom spent those 5 years talking about how awful and horrible she was. But every chance she got it was “you look just like her” “you act just like her” “your gonna be just like her” I still don’t know if my mom just left or they kept me from her or if it was a mix of both but it’s like I didn’t see how bad it was till now about a 1-2 years after just leaving. I look back now, I was abused and never told anyone because my brain was telling me I was happy and that they loved me. I was so delusional. That’s literally the least bad thing they said/did but it was the most hurtful. Swing as I was 14 who just lost her mother out of the blue who was intact still alive.

my mom never visited me once over the course of 6 years. (I flew out to see her twice and offered to pay her hotel and ticket to see me.) and now that I'm pregnant she plans to fly out for the grandbaby.
