@modhippiehabits: Pickled Spring Veggies! 🥕 🥒 🧄 Recipe per quart jar: (I made two quarts) 2 Cups Julienned Spring Vegetables 1 Cup White Vinegar 1 Cup Water 2 Tbs Salt 1 Tsp Sugar 1 Tsp Black Peppercorns 1/2 Tsp Celery Seed 2-3 Sprigs of Thyme 1 Bay Leaf 4 Cloves Garlic 🫙 For the brine combine water, vinegar, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer until all solids are dissolved. 🥕 Pack all remaining spices, herbs, and veggie matchsticks into a quart sized jar. Leave space at the neck to make sure the veggies will not touch the lid. Pour the hot brine over the veggies and close the lid. Veggies will be ready in about 24 hours. Store in the fridge- the pickles will be best if consumed in the first month. #pickles #Recipe #foodpreservation #urbanhomestead #growyourown #urbanfarming #canning #slowliving #Sustainability #healthyfood #healthylifestyle #lowwaste #denver
