try leaving more of it sticking out from the bottom of the part you clamped if you don't want the very bottom part curled.

A recommendation if you wanna try again. I curl all away from my face and slide the clamp half down mid shaft and curl then slide to the ends and curl

I have a beach waver and I start my curl mid length still then slide it down as I’m curling.

another reason why it's different is bc w/ ur curler you bunch the hair up, with the waver it's flat, if that makes any sense 😂

For more volume at the top of my head, I will clamp higher up on the hair and then curl it in and then undo it, and then call the bottom part.
