@coffeewithcrema: Tried out a new basket for the portafilter and can’t say we recommend. This is NOT the unibasket, but was made with similar strategy in mind - increase area that the holes cover to more widely/evenly disperse espresso shot as its pulling. Unlike the unibasket tho, the increased thickness of the metal wasnt there to counteract the bowing of the basket during the pull. We found if difficult to dial in, and with the additional amount of grinds it took (20g basket vs 18g) it really didnt seem worth it or make a positive difference on feel/taste of the espresso.
