I lived on a 20 horse ranch for years. No one there knew there was a correct way to tie a rope halter. And that's almost exclusively what was used😬

My trainer mentioned that it’s important to tie it this way bc it won’t tighten down on itself if the horse resists. I love that she is always willing

Another tip put a NON rope halter on them when trailering. If they pull back or move their head a lot the rope halter can rub a grove on their nose.

You should say why the knot gos under the loop … so if they pull back it will tighten so bad it’s way way hard to get undone… 🥰🥰

I work for a large animal vet and I would half the horses with rope halters on are tied incorrectly.
