Weirdest hack ever, but ants don’t like copper. I use a 5 cent Euro coin and just put it on my counter, no more ants.

The peppermint oil does serve as a repellent. However if you have Cats, don't use on surfaces kitties will have access to, as it is toxic to them.

take a mason jar, put orange peels in it w/vinegar seal with parchment paper and lid, sit for 2 weeks, drain put in spray bottle

Vinegar wiping is temporary fix. They come back. Beware of peppermint oil if you have cats or dogs. Just saying. 😁
