If so, cook them in the sauce before adding the rice cakes (step 2) INSTRUCTIONS: 1. If using frozen rice cakes, cook them in boiling water or soup stock until softened (about 5 minutes) and remove from the pan leaving just the liquid. Skip this step if using fresh rice cakes. 2. To the pan add the rest of the ingredients, stir well and adjust the flavor to your liking. 3. Bring to a boil and let thicken before adding the rice cakes. 4. Mix. Top with vegan mozzarella cheese.
