After believing in the Lord for ten years, why do you still keep falling into the same sin? You already believe in the Lord. You pray, confess your sins, read the Bible, and may even have served for many years. But you still cannot seem to break free from sin. You know you should not lose your temper, yet you still cannot control your anger. You know you should not lie, yet you still find yourself doing it again and again. Then you begin to wonder: “Is my faith not strong enough?” But the real problem may be deeper than you think. Today, let us look at just three biblical truths. Listen until the end, and you will find the path to freedom from sin. First, having your sins forgiven does not mean your sinful nature has disappeared. The Lord Jesus became the sacrifice for our sins, and through faith, our sins are forgiven. But you will notice that even after our sins are forgiven, the sinful nature within us still remains. That is why many people, even after believing in the Lord, still sin, confess, and then fall into sin again. This does not mean that the redemption of Jesus has no meaning. It means this: being forgiven does not mean you have already been completely freed from the bondage of sin. Second, what truly needs to be dealt with is not only your outward behaviour, but the corruption within you. Sometimes we only pray: “Lord, please do not let me commit this sin again.” But what God wants to change is not just one particular behaviour. He wants to deal with the pride, selfishness, jealousy, greed and rebellion within you. Because outward sins are often only the expression of the corruption within. Third, and most importantly: God does not only want to forgive our sins. He also wants to lead us into the truth so that our lives can truly be changed. The Lord Jesus said: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John chapter eight, verse thirty-two（John 8:32 KJV) Only the truth that comes from God can make us free. So if you have believed in the Lord for many years but are still repeatedly bound by certain sins, you need to begin asking: “Lord, what corruption within me have I still not recognised? How do You want to change me?” Today, God is revealing the truth that can lead people out of sin.
