@sooziethefoodie: Today I’m gonna show you on today’s episode of me remaking old dishes I have done in the past I show you the corn custard 2.0 💜 🌽 when I tell you that purple corn is hard to work with I’m not kidding 😂 unlike regular corn, purple corn as much starchier and almost chalky. Though the color is really pretty it’s best used when it is dried. I love everything corn so I decided to make it into a purple corn custard! Are used the purple Peruvian corn for color by soaking it in milk for a day ! To add extra flavor, I soak buttered popcorn and heavy cream for the base of my custard. Popcorn and milk weirdly go well Wally well together 🙈 I decided to be a little bit fancy this time and use fresh vanilla beans instead of the paste. The color of the milk a mixture was exactly what I was going for but it did turn a little bit gray ones I added the egg yolks. I was too far deep into this to go back and start over so I added the custard into a corn shaped mold then put it in the freezer. The last time I made this frozen corn, I missed an opportunity to make a cool topping for it. So for this time, I blended freeze dried strawberries with blue Spirulina to make a natural purple powder to add on top. I also used purple saw just to make it a little bit more fun.! if you can’t tell purple is my favorite color 😂😂 Finally on the side I added corn flakes and dehydrated corn silks (trust me they are really yummy) though this did not turn out 100% the way I had in mind I still love it a lot more than the first version I did!
