Throwback to this little frog painting 🐸 Fun fact - I am horribly terrified of frogs. Like, really really bad. I don’t know what exactly it is, but they just illicit a visceral reaction. Living in FL, this fear is not so fun because they’re everywhere 🙃 When we first moved into our house, there was a retention pond behind it that wasn’t built properly so it wasn’t draining water, aka it turned into an absolute swamp 🐸 We would get - not over exaggerating - HUNDREDS of frogs in our backyard, porch, & particularly all around the trim of our sliding glass door. It was horrifying & I couldn’t even let Cotton out there myself. We mainly have Cuban tree frogs & they are just 🤢🤢 to me. Thankfully that retention pond was finally fixed so we don’t have that problem anymore! We do sometimes still have a problem with those horrible bufo/cane toads which are very poisonous to dogs. Without Cotton now we don’t have to be as worried about them, but they are still terrifying to me - they’re huge! Back in high school I loved dissecting in our anatomy & physiology class, but the frog day was a hard one for me 🫠 I do still like this painting though - especially with my first experimentation with 3D elements. I didn’t really have a problem with painting it since my style/colors are removed enough from reality, & I can look at pictures of them… just not irl… Anyone else hate/scared of frogs?? Or am I alone in this 🫣 #HardEdgePainting #AnatomyArt #ArtAndScience
