@austinfoodadventures: After a series of very disappointing meals in Austin. I had a craving for decadent and delicious Soul Food! Let me preface this by saying my goto is usually Rolling Rooster or Gus’ fried chicken. I’ve been meaning to try @whipmysoul for about a year now and i’m so happy I did! We got the sampler platter for with 2 wings, 2 tenders, 2 fish and 2 sides and the chicken and waffles with 3 tenders. The tenders had a different breading and seasoning than the wings which were more lightly breaded, both were really solid. The fish was really tasty and flakey. What stood out to me was the seasoning, soul food needs flavor and good seasoning and they packed it in perfectly. The hush puppies were divine and i liked the mac and cheese. Chicken and waffles were one of the best i’ve had in town. There was a super friendly grandma going around and asking if we needed anything etc. I like the service and I will warn that the food took about 30-40 min to come out. but it’s so worth it!
