I had no idea this wasn't available already. Ontario has had full day kindergarten starting at age 4 for over a decade

Yes. It would be great for the students and the parents. Many Provinces have full time Kindergarten. It benefits the children learning

it's not enough if you can't even get a spot. how is it realistic to leave work or school to pick up my child at lunch time to take him to a daycare?

Seems more stable & high quality than half day kindergarten + daycare/after school care. Kindergarten is play based so it isn’t substantially differen
