@the.truth.doctor: The explanation at the end makes so much sense 🥺😩 #therapysession Feeling safe in an unsafe body or situation is often the result of our brain, body, and mind becoming used to a lack of safety. A lack of safety has become more familiar over time and therefore (using your brain’s logic) it’s actually an easier situation to be in. Your brain knows how to react to a lack of safety and *safe* situations can feel scary because you don’t have a playbook to move through them. Learning to be come a safe person to yourself and to ease your body into a comfortable state when safe takes work, and it’s completely possible. Psst, don’t forget: You’re a human first, your unconscious is showing, and I’m so glad you exist. ❤️Dr. Courtney @the.truth.doctor #safety #addiction #therapy #borderlinepersonality #depression #anxiety #trauma #therapist #MentalHealth #bpd #substanceuse
