i found the culture in spain to be much colder than the US. like at the grocery store and stuff u don’t ever chat with the cashier

In my experience, Spain is a lot more antisocial. None of my neighbours know each other, cashiers don’t make chitchat, no community. Unlike in my town

Growing up in NY we knew all our neighbors personally, when we moved away some even cried!

I think it depends on your city/state. I know all of my neighbors, we even have blocks parties on holidays and host neighborhood barbecues all summer.
