@yogawithkatharine: This is why you keep delaying actually starting on a new skill or endeavor. 1. Starting is the hardest part of any journey. You are probably going to be bad at whatever it is you are going to do. You are going to have to put a lot of effort into learning this new skill, which will require research, discipline and dedication. 2. We always think that our circumstances will be better in the future. Whether that’s an hour, a day, a week or a year from now, we are always making an excuse not to do something in the hopes that we would simply jump to the occasion with ease. We have to accept this is not the truth! 3. We are naturally attracted to comfort. Our bodies want to keep us safe, and honestly, learning or persuing something new will probably come with some risks - even if they are minor like feeling awkward at a yoga or gym class. Opting for the healthier option at a family bbq while they look at you oddly. Comfort is where growth ends.
