What a ridiculous statement! I've had 2 bowel resections but an ostomy is not an option for me. I would do it for quality of life.

I got my ostomy after my gut “exploded” this past January. After emergency surgery and five days in a coma, I came out on the other side changed.

For anyone who doesn’t have stomach issues, has no idea. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colotis when I was 13. I now have colon cancer.

Mine was an emergency situation, I had a large wound caused by gangrene, it was a week from near death to Ostpmy! Steep learning curve too!
