In addition to the anchoring micro-stitches, sometimes i add a dot of fray check, and trim the thread tails if its in a conspicuous area. 😁

You can also start a centimetre or so from the start of your stitch line then backstitch so the feed dogs don’t chew up the edge 👍

I like to pull the top thread through to the back and tie a knot manually on the wrong side, especially for hems and top stitching
