This is due to low octane levels in petrol. Add octane booster and it is fixed. Ensure you get petrol from reputable service stations helps too.

Go to AutoZone and have them check the engine light. A lot of times it's a dirty sensor, they also sell cleaner for the sensors! YouTube also helps!

sometimes the engine light will go on for something as simple as a loose gas cap, make sure when close u hear the crackle!
