23 years paralyzed today… And WOW! What a wild, unexpected, sometimes hilarious ride it’s been. I’ve officially been paralyzed for 23 years—which is longer than TikTok, the iPhone, and kids graduating high school have been around. Crazy, right?! This day is always a little bittersweet, but over time I’ve realized that while I can’t control what happened to me, I can control how I live with it. And spoiler alert: life can still be beautiful, joyful, meaningful, and even kind of fabulous… vent and all. And just to make sure I really felt the full-circle magic of it all—I saw my neurosurgeons this past Saturday, Dr. Garton and Dr. Muraszco. The ones who saved my life 23 years ago. Total God wink moment. I was all dressed up, smiling, and thriving, and I could feel how proud they were. My story still being written is thanks to their hands, and God’s plan. So thankful for them! I’ve learned more than I ever wanted to about resilience, patience, and medical equipment 🤣. But I’ve also found purpose, pride, laugh so hard you cry moments and more love than I ever thought possible. I’m proud of who I am and all that I’ve overcome—and I’m even more excited about what’s ahead. Today isn’t just a “quad-iversary,” it’s a celebration of life, growth, and choosing joy even when it’s hard. Let’s keep moving through life, even when we can’t move! If you want to help me celebrate, consider donating to Mi Work Matters an organization close to my heart that creates real opportunities for people with disabilities to find purpose and independence through meaningful employment. That’s the kind of change I want to see in the world. miworkmatters.org/donate Thank you to my ride-or-dies—my family, friends, and cheer squad—for showing up, sticking around, and laughing with me even when things get weird (which is often). I love you all deeply. God is so GOOD💕 Here’s to 23 years of rocking, rolling, venting, and vibing! #23YearsStrong #Grateful #QuadLife #Paralysis #StillRolling
