Why "you" has "y" and "o"? Isn't just "u" enough?

Why is it so normalized to romanticize our suffering? “There was once a time.” There was once a time for everything; if you stay stuck on the happiness you once felt as a former version of yourself, maybe as a kid, when you were more naive, in a relationship, etc. then you’re never going to appreciate the “time” you’re in at the moment. Meaning that where you are, right now, is literally going to become your future selves’ “there was once a time.” I used to subscribe to that mindset, keeping myself stuck in bouts of depression. I don’t really know what changed, but I feel a lot more at peace with life in general. Maybe it’s a matter of hitting enough low points to realize life goes on, and if you stay stuck romanticizing what you once had then the grass is always going to be greener in the past. What happened to romanticizing our futures? I love absurdism because you really do learn to appreciate every positive outcome from even the most seemingly negative events. Life goes on, and you’ll always continue to find yourself and look forward to the new version of yourself that you’ll create. Maybe I’m just feeling my frontal cortex develop but everyone is always so terrified of getting older, losing their naivety and having more “life stress” but they fail to see that if you allow your mind to grow, then at every stage in life, you’re going to have a new form of fulfillment, a new thing to appreciate or find beauty in. Life isn’t meant to be linear. You’d probably get pretty bored still trying to play with hot wheels. Let yourself grow.
