Even if you go DIY on a stereo crutchfield has a harness and you just have to connect it to the aftermarket head and never have to touch the factory.

I believe Crutchfield sells adapter wiring harnesses to install aftermarket radios in most cars & trucks.

The aftermarket I got for my VW came prewired with everything. Had to connect the quad box, amp turn on and rear cam. Took 10 minutes
