I mean... I don't think it matters what is "appropriate". If you have a medical condition and you need to wear certain types of shoes, wear them!

Birks!! I have yet to find good flats. Not sure when converse changed their insoles but my last two pairs have been super comfy

Unrelated to shoes, offices can get very cold. I always pack a sweater or a shawl. Food for thought

I work at Penn. Business casual. I wear sandals/sneakers in! Then have flats/loafers for in the office. Target has great options.

I work in an office and we are pretty casual! (25 yo) wearing lots of Nikes/casual street shoes. I would say nicer/newer birks are also fine!
