I got a CVT on my '09 nissan murano, with 267,000 miles & haven't had one problem with my transmission. I keep my fluid changed.

I like gear! friction makes power loss with heating. and CVT does not work without friction.

There’s no way you can pass a torque load with enough force to move a full sized sedan through that without significant energy loss with the transfer
