@bydonmartin: Replying to @stavroulaki.ti.kaneis As someone making a name for myself, I do agree that I owe you the following: Accurate information to the best of my ability, and a willingness to correct myself if I find that the information I have presented is incorrect. Don’t be a jerk and apologize when you are. People can always tell when you’re trying, and a slip up, doesn’t represent the core of who you are. Act in good faith always. Be engaging. You are not owed a cheerful demeanor. You are not owed me diminishing my truth to make it more palatable to you . And if you are part of the majority or oppressor group, you are most certainly not owed coddling if the truth of my lived experience makes you uncomfortable. Unpack your disquiet elsewhere.
