@thesidingguy_: As you know, I like to DIY a lot of things. It keeps me learning and saves me money. I’m no pro at a lot of “handyman” type stuff, but as I gain experience I can do it better the next time or hopefully help others from my experience. My wife found this brand new awning from Facebook Marketplace for cheap. This is a west facing window into our kitchen/dining room. It gets hot in the summer so this was the perfect solution. It didn’t take too long to install. I just made sure that I installed the lag bolts to the rafter tails to makes sure it’s into solid wood. With any DIY stuff, research is key. Read the manuals, watch some product installation videos, or call someone you know who may have experience. Learning new things keeps things interesting in life.
