@sisterbrandltd: Respectfully @foundr I disagree - a lot of ambitious founders fail to be successful because they treat brand as an afterthought. I made this mistake with my first business - created a product which I struggled to sell because I didn’t have a brand. I didn’t have true purpose, I didn’t know who my customers were, I didn’t know what they needed to hear, I didn’t know how I was different (to name just a few elements that make up a brand strategy) - and as a result I couldn’t convince anyone to buy. I focused on brand first for my second business and it changed everything. I firmly believe that brand is the blueprint on which everything else is built in your business, including the products and services you create. There’s such a common misconception that brand is just visuals. But it is so much more than that. Yes, they are important, but like a good looking sales rep trying to convince you to buy something - it’s only going to take you so far. As you say, a brand is a reputation that is built over time, and it is that reputation that will make you successful. But, a strong reputation can be built so much quicker when you’re strategic about it from the start 🤗
