Twelve years of ups and downs, but one thing’s always stayed the same, I keep coming back to training. Always. Somewhere along the way, I decided to turn that consistency into a career and life’s purpose of coaching women to build strength, both physically and mentally. I know some people will probably focus on the difference in body size, but back in 2013 I had barely any muscle and you can clearly see it in the video. Over the years, I’ve built strength, resilience, and confidence (plus a good bit of muscle), and to me that’s worth so much more than chasing a lower body fat percentage. These days, I hardly think about it. I feel good in my body and yes, I have good and bad days like everyone else, but back then it used to take up so much headspace. The truth is, muscle is what keeps us strong, capable, and independent as we age. Body fat only becomes a concern if it’s genuinely impacting your quality of life. Other than that, it doesn’t need to be your daily obsession. What should be on your radar? Building strength. Fueling properly. Getting enough sleep. Supporting your bones, joints, hormones and mindset for the long haul. If you’re in a season where your body feels like a battle, please know it doesn’t have to stay that way. You deserve to feel strong, not just look smaller. I’d love to hear where you are on your journey.
