Wake up babes!!! “King Tut’s Curse” fungus is now being repurposed to destroy cancer cells! When archaeologists cracked open the famous pharaohs burial chamber in the 1920s, a series of the team members died mysteriously. Word spread of a curse, but it’s theorized that it was actually a deadly fungus, Apergillus flavus, lurking in the tomb for thousands of years that ultimately led to the untimely deaths. Although the fungus was never confirmed to be present in King Tut’s tomb, a later excavation in the 1970s of 15th century King Casimir IV Poland’s crypt caused the 12 archaeologists to meet a similar fate. Analysis of Casimir’s tomb revealed the presence of a fungus called Aspergillus flavus. So it is theorized this same fungus is what caused the excavators deaths in the 1920s. But now in 2025, scientists have successfully used this same deadly fungus to kill leukemia cells with a potency on par or even more than the current leukemia treatments of cytarabine and daunorubicin!
