Check your lifters an rockers 😳 it’s pretty common. The cam,crank correlation an not idling is a sign I’ve done a few of these 3.6

clean or replace the Throttle body. my dad had 16 Patriot that did the same thing. we cleaned it ran fine but acted up again so we replaced it.

I hope it didn't jump time, it could be a vvt issue. I would buy a blown yj and drop the 5 cylinder Mercedes in it... they make a kit to do it 😏.
