I still love her and I haven’t been pretending otherwise. I’ve tried to show up, to listen, to be patient, to give space when it’s needed and effort when it’s deserved. I want this to work more than I’ve probably ever wanted anything. But I’m starting to understand that love can’t be carried by one person, no matter how hard they try. I can feel that something in her has changed, and I can’t fix that by wanting it more or trying harder. I’m not angry and I’m not blaming her. I know my value and I know what I give when I love someone. I was loved by her once and that was real, it meant everything to me. If there’s nothing I can do anymore to bring that feeling back, then all I can do now is accept it without losing myself. Reality is, life never goes the way you plan. No matter how much you love, you can't force someone to love you.
