@ajgirl1: EMPTY NESTERS: When I put my son in college and lost my 49 year old sister to cancer in a span of a few months, my heart was broken and I was so lost. So when an opportunity came for me to move— I made a rather quick decision and I sold my home & sold of gave away everything that wouldn’t fit into my car, and moved 1000 miles away to a city that I never thought I would visit, much less live in. I’m inspired every single day by this city. I miss my son but I also know he’s going to be OK and that he knows I will always be here for him. But, it’s time to go re-discover who you are. It’s your time to choose you. Since that time, THIS has been my life. So many of you told me you’re in the same boat I was. Well, i already hit those rocks you’re headed for & I’m here to tell you: It is a slow process. VERY SLOW. Two years & I still have my moments. But there is so much to look forward to, too.. once you start choosing YOU. Focusing on YOU. Take all that you poured into your kids that they don’t need anymore and start pouring it into you.

My unsolicited advice: What did you love to do as a little girl? Start there. Do those things for her.

Thats what you do, find you. Our children are not ours, we're just here to guide them to adulthood. Just love them always ❤🥰❤🥰🙏

Weird how empty nesting and losing a loved one at the same time is so common. I’m trying…. Not quite there yet. 💔
