in my experience growing up in Scarborough Ontario for 35 years Jamaica food usually tastes better when it's made by Jamaican people.

It’s not bad necessarily, all it means is ethnic food is more commercialized as the demographics evolve in Canada. Ethnic food is no longer niche.
