I know I’m late but I remember I saw a deep dive on this topic where it was shown that a large amount of people who do this are women. My theory is the hatred for baby monkeys comes from a hatred of the social expectation for women to be mothers and cater to children (but taken to the extremes for whatever reason). But obviously it isn’t socially acceptable to say those things about babies so they go for the closest things to human babies - monkey babies.

I fully agree with you on that being the case for most of those comments. However as someone who would never comment either of these things, and as someone who does not hate kids, my theory is that it’s the uncanny valley effect. Especially when they smile. It’s likely that’s why it exists in the first place
