@beyondcodependency: the best thing my mentor did was stay gently loyal to the truth. Codependency includes experiencing varying degrees of denial and delusion, which means we have blind spots that we aren't always able to name and notice without someone directly reflecting it to us. (amd yes, one of mine was overcomplicating things, making relating harder than it needs to be by fighting reality, and applying seriousness where none was required).
