My psychiatrist told me I have a conversation too well to be autistic. I quit going to that doc. They don't keep up with current findings!

I am from Québec and I got my late ADHD diagnosis for free by doing it with my family’s doctor. Like it was covered by « assurance maladie ».

talk to an insurance agent about Medicaid. if you have 0 income you qualify, that'll pay for your diagnosis.

A licensed CBT therapist can diagnose you. If you find the right one- they are very helpful and normally a lot cheaper than a psychiatrist. 💕

I'm diagnosed bipolar but my psych decided to mark me as "unspecified" so other doctors wouldn't stereotype me. now I can't get disability benefits

health insurance typically covers assessment, but that comes with a long waiting list. years long.

The real joke is that even if you get SSI by some miracle you are only allowed to have $2000 at any given time or your benefits go away 😭

Small fyi: In Ontario if you qualify for Ontario Works they can sometimes help with access to diagnostic assessments needed for Ontario disability
