The "ah" in Gaelic is pronounced more like Apple. The e is barely pronounced

Most of us speak Scots but don’t realise it as we’ve been told as children it’s “slang”. There’s a lot of misunderstanding of Scots within Scotland

In our vernacular we mainly use Scots or slang derived from Scots, some areas are different but the Glasgow area is synonymous for this!

Surely more than just 30% speak Scots? I think a lot of people don’t realise it’s seperate to English and assume it’s a dialect not a language

Shetland and Orkney have a different dialect from scots which decends from old norse from when we were a part of norway. They gave us to scotland 1469
