@thelaststoic: Exploring the Cave of the Crystals, located 300 meters below the surface of Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico. These giant selenite crystals grew in hot, nutrient-dense water for 500,000 years. The cave sits above a magma chamber, heating the cave up to 136°F (58° C) with levels of humidity between 90-99%. This makes exploring the cave a challenge since, even equipped with suits, the body can only handle around 30 minutes maximum before it becomes life threatening. The cave was discovered in the year 2000 when drilling in a mine. The cave was reflooded in 2015, and is sealed off. One of my first videos was about this place and I wanted to try again.
