@techsalestom: Don’t quit your first SDR role until you do the following: First thing you need to do is figure out if you actually do want to stay at this company for another 2-3 years. If you do here is what I recommend: 1: Set up time with your manager to talk just about your career goals, not sales targets. In this first meeting, start off by stating the scope and purpose of this cadence 2. Summarize your overall performance and ask them if they agree with your strong performance. Align this closely to your job matrix and AE role requirements 3. Let them know that you would like to become an AE in the next 12 months and that you want to grow with the company (assuming that's true) 4. Ask them specifically what skills they would need to see for them to know that you're ready for the role. We're essentially setting up OKRs 5. Start tracking your progress on a weekly basis. End of week is usually best when everything js fresh, just send yourself a short email 6. Have monthly career 1:1's where you report on your progress and compare them to the targets your manager set 7. By the 6 month mark you should have a good idea if you'll actually be promoted or not based on how you're trending against your OKs and manager feedback 8. Make sure you are also spending time with the A manager and let them know your career goals since they will need to approve your promo. Give them quarterly updates on your progress #techsales #sales #careeradvice #careertiktok #corporate #pathto300k
