@seattletechbro: "The money will come back" trend forgets about one thing: the opportunity cost of investing money while you're young and have time to compound. But having memorable experiences while you're young has it's own intangible value. So how do you make sure you both live a fulfilling life and set yourself up for success financially? I do 3 things: 1. Understand that I won't be young again, and some experiences CAN't wait. 2. Set myself up for the bare minimum financially: 10k in savings, and enough to pay for end-of-life care for myself. 3. Budget my travel so that I'm not overextending myself. #money #traveling

Note: when I say “traveling on credit”, I’m not referring to credit cards. (I use them!) I meant that I wouldn’t book travel I couldn’t afford

No trips on credit and no trips if emergency funds are below 5-10k are good rules for most people IMO

Travel hacking def helps :) and trips don’t have to be expensive. If in the US, there are plenty of places nearby that can be just as fulfilling

Working fully remote has been amazing for me. I’m able to blend travel and work together. Hope other industries would adopt more WFH policies

You should literally always book your trip on credit.. have funds set aside to pay it off but that way you have full coverage of your trip +gets perks
