With the help defender stepping over early, it makes it much tougher to finish around the rim so if you can, you want to be able to get into a high quality shot that avoids them. And now the closeout defender. After Bryce rips through, the close out defender now has to open up and recover. So if you notice his shoulders on the recovery, they are pointed at the rim and not Bryce. So if Bryce can get to a quick 1-2, the defender's hand will be late on the contest, which is the very same read Kobe, Jordan, KD and other midrange scorers make.
