@valerie_hhouse: @Valerie H’s House ⬅️ In response to that vid, here's exactly how I do my weekly orchid feed. If you just recently transferred your Orchids from mulch/moss to water culture, leave in water and change it out weekly until your orchid gets used to water for 2-3 months, then you can add your weekly fertilizer. Yes, transitioning them to water culture will shock your plant and yes, theres a possibility you’ll lose blooms if your plant had some. Some say it’s better to wait until your blooms have all fallen off for the season before you put them in water cuture. I've transitioned them with blooms and yes, some have lost blooms, while others didn't. It just all depends on your plant. Don't give up on your orchids. It takes time and patience and experimentation, practice and love. I'm not an orchid expert, but this is what works for my orchids! 🌸🩷🥰 #flowers #flowertok #PlantTok #plants #plantoftiktok #howto #orchid #planthacks #planttips #houseplants #waterculture

I started water culturing today, should I fully submerge the base in water for two months or just enough water for roots to touch?

Too high maintenance for me. I have an orchid just sitting here with no flowers. I need a simple routine.

Mine has one leaf & that's it, not even a stick where the flowers grow. Is it a goner? Also how much water do I use?

So is the weak water it sits in just plain water?? I’m going to transition my orchid to water. Do I use the same process minus the two day dry sit?

What if roots are too short due to root rot/dryness & are too close to crown roots? Add more water or just enough to touch non-crown roots?

Hi, I just want to make sure I understand. When you transition to water culture you let the roots (including the crown) sit submerged in water for 2 months, changing the water weekly. After the 2 months you do 5 days in a little bit of water and 2 days dry? What do you mean by never apply fertilizer to dry roots?

So can I fertilize it right after I transition it to water? Or do I have to wait 2 months before doing so?
