@thediydecorator: How to DIY a stencilled tile flooring using products from the @Dulux Australia Renovation Range: 🖌️Start by giving your tiles a good clean! I used my handy electric grout cleaner and Sugar soap to make sure all grime & build-up was removed. And then gave the floor a quick vacuum once dry. 🖌️The first step of the tile paint flooring journey is the very important priming step. This is what bonds the paint to the flooring so is a must! Simply apply to the grout lines with a paint brush, and then roll the primer over your tiles to ensure an even coat is distributed. Allow to dry for at least 8 hours. 🖌️Next up was my base colour which is Dulux Vivid White in a gloss finish. Again, using a brush on the grout lines and a small microfiber brush on the tiles, apply an even coat of paint to your tiles. Allow this coat to dry overnight and then add a second coat. *I ended up doing 3 coats just to use up the paint - as it does begin to set after a few days being a two-part product. 🖌️Once the white was dry, it was time to stencil! I picked up a design that was the same size as my existing tiles to give a more realistic tile look. Applying the paint through the stencil took a bit of trial and error to get right - I found that using some masking tape to hold the stencil in place and then coming in with a lightly coated roller over it was the best and neatest way to apply the paint. For the pattern, I used Dulux Army Issue in a gloss finish. I only applied the one coat of paint for the stencil which was enough coverage, and went in with a small artists brush to fix up any missed areas or bleeds once the stencil was removed. 🖌️Once the stencilling was complete, it was simply a matter of keeping off the flooring for a few days to make sure the paint is completely set. And making sure only sock and not shoes were worn for walking on it for the first week. We are beyond happy with how this project turned out! It's given us the realistic tile look we want without blowing our budget, and brings a smile to my face knowing that I achieved this look by getting my DIY on and letting my creativity shine ✨ #DuluxRenovationRange #Ad #thediydecorator #stenciltile #tilepaint #floorpaint #stenciltile #stencilling #dulux #duluxaustralia #duluxaus #duluxrenorange #homediy #diyhome #fyinterior #fy #diyinspiration #diyproject #weekenddiy #tilepattern

@Amanda Males:Can we have an update please! We are about to start this on our bathroom facelift.
Most importantly, how long did you leave the floor before using again. We did not prepare for a 7 day wait in true impulsive DIY fashion. 😆

ok, at risk of a silly question but good to clarify beforehand...I'm assuming the top colour was using the renovator range for base?

This looks amazing. I am thinking of doing Grey and white more my tiles but doing Grey as the base then white as the stencil.

Is the army issue also in the Dulux renovation range or is it a standard paint?
