@leglessthia: When I first had my amputation, I felt like a burden. even now, I constantly feel the need to apologize for needing to be pushed while rollin through the gravel , for needing people to fold my wheelchair and put in their trunk ,or simply for simply being disabled. you can help by every once in a while saying, "Hey, I love you, I'm so glad you're alive. you are not an inconvenience, you're so valued." something along those lines.
