actually there was tsb released over a decade ago to run 5w30. the fix is hv oil pump. the ratcheting tensioners can and will stretch the chain

My question is why buy a 250 with a gas engine. 6.7 is such a great engine. But my Silverado 5.3 has 260k miles never been torn apart runs smooth

Don’t forget the exhaust manifolds rotting out and the bolts snapping off! And also don’t forget about the spark plugs breaking and or blowing out

the oil weight is incorrect. it's a Cafe standard. Ford has changed to 5w30. 5w30 is actually better. it holds better oil psi.

excursion 5.4 2v 173k miles got it at 157k had it 2 year no problems just oil changes I love my truck and its never given me trouble

My biggest problems with these motors is, Ford had no business putting them in anything bigger than an F-150, and yet you can still find 350s with 54s

Loved my 2004 F250. It was a nutless wonder but held up ok. I did launch a spark plug though.

This guy doesn’t have a clue. Lol. Change your oil and filter every 3k. Seen many 5.4 with over 200k.

Mines at 182k and the engine hasn’t even been opened once… oil changes every 3k… not 4k not 5k… still works great. Does it need an overhaul? It wouldn’t hurt lol Ive been a follower of the 3v problems
